"When my mother (pictured above) turned 91 and my children started having children, I began wondering how they would know about the marvels of her life story growing up in the Bronx in the shadows of Yankee Stadium. Fortunately, my father was a gifted photographer and we had a trove of terrific family photos in the form of slides.
I realized that I would have to become the 'curator' of our family's artifacts and set about planning an 'exhibit' worthy of the romance that began in a World War II airplane factory in Paterson, N.J. In digital audio clips, my mother describes her birth on the kitchen table of a fifth floor 'walk up.' The doctor delivered her twin brother and was surprised to discover a second baby sharing the same space. The doctor set my mother aside and said 'we won't worry about her' and returned to the boy infant. My mother's grandmother stepped in and said, "Like hell we won't!" The rest is family history!
